Electromagnetic Induction Heater/Welder
What is Electromagnetic Induction Heating (IH)?
IH is a non-contact method of heating ferrous materials. The process uses a high frequency alternating current (AC) through an induction coil to produce a strong magnetic field. When a metal component is placed in the center of coil, that magnetic field penetrates through the component creating internal eddy currents, heating it internally. Once the component reaches a set target temperature, it is hot enough to either pierce into a mated component or can be used as a junction interface to bond two previously separated components.
Primary Benefits
•More energy efficient when compared to standard cartridge heaters
•Non-Contact heating extends the lifetime of the components
•The technology can also be implemented into hotplate welding applications
•Suitable for a range of applications
